If you've done the math, you know that we're a bit tardy on the kid's 9-month checkup. However, we did have both a 6- & 7-month checkup before we left, so we're not totally neglectful parents (yet). Trying to figure out the Singapore healthcare system took a bit of research and random choosing, but we think we did ok.
We were a little concerned our little tot was a bit too little before we began this little adventure. However, in the time we've been gone, the little tot has turned out to be a bit-above-average tyke as she is now in the 60th and 75th percentiles for weight and height, respectively. Granted, we are now using Asian standards, which actually makes more sense since neither of her parents are sumo-sized. And then we got to her immunization record. Apparently Asian countries give newborns a shot to protect them from TB, so Ella got it right in the bum... without any crying or fussing whatsoever. Even the doctor was impressed; he'd said it was a first because it tends to be rather painful. She's so brave!
We're practicing standing on her own. If we try to help her she sits right down. However, if she gets up on her own and lets go on her own, then she stands for quite a while. Silly little independent girl. Wonder where she gets it from.
We're off to get keys to the condo we'll be residing in during our stay here and will officially move in next week. Kinda scary to be farther away from things, yet happy to be able to use our own stuff. It'll be great to explore a new area and be in our own space!

Let's get this thing started already
It's been well over two months since we've left "home" and it's about time we started updating all you folks on our whereabouts, let alone how and what we've been doing all this time. From Seattle to Singapore to Beijing to South Korea and back to Singapore with Hong Kong and Seattle in the not-so-distant future, we've kept ourselves busy. Our hope is to thumb through our journal and eventually share some of the things we've experienced so far (with pictures to boot!) We will have a bit of pre-posting to do so please bear with us.
We're excited to begin this new adventure and be able to share it with our loved ones! Take care and check back soon...
